Preview

Although Juventus have a very formidable home record in European competition, they have not exactly been at their very best this season. Massimiliano Allegri's men come into this game having suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat to Sampdoria during this weekend's Serie A match, and also have already lost at home in domestic action when they were beaten 2-1 by Lazio earlier this term. Furthermore, the Bianconeri have won just two of their last five games in the Champions League and were thoroughly beaten 3-0 by Barcelona in the reverse fixture at the start of this current Champions League campaign - although injuries to key players certainly did not help their cause.

That being said, Allegri opted to rest Paulo Dybala, Gianluigi Buffon, Blaise Matuidi, Mattia De Sciglio and Alex Sandro during the clash with Sampdoria, with Dybala only coming on late when Juve were losing 3-0. All of these players are expected to return to the starting XI for the upcoming showdown with Barcelona, who are cruising along comfortably in La Liga.

Still unbeaten, Ernesto Valverde's men boast a four-point lead over Valencia and a whopping ten point advantage over Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid after just 12 rounds. In terms of the Champions League, they also top their quartet and are through to the round of 16 simply by earning a point in Turin, but having lost here earlier this year, Lionel Messi and his colleagues certainly will be gunning for more than just a mere draw.

Gerard Pique makes his return after serving a ban, but key midfielder Javier Mascherano misses out due to injury. Meanwhile, Luis Suarez seems to have finally found his goal-scoring touch once again, which will certainly worry Juventus, who have looked less than steady at the back all season.
