The Welshman appears destined to return to the Premier League, with Los Blancos growing frustrated with his fitness problems.

The clock is ticking on Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid career, with reports claiming his time at the Bernabeu is almost over. The Mirror is the latest site to link the Welshman with a transfer, reporting that Los Blancos is ready to listen to offers for the attacker.

Zidane’s side is in need of the 28-year-old’s services, as their attack is underperforming so far this season. Nonetheless, the former Spurs ace remains on the sidelines.

Ongoing injury problems have kept Bale off the pitch for a lengthy period of his Real Madrid career, missing 40 of the club’s last 60 games as a result. The Mirror claims that the Spanish club has grown frustrated with his fitness problems and will thus cash in on him.

Gareth’s likeliest destination would be the Premier League, but he is unlikely to return to former club Tottenham. The North London outfit has a first option buy-back, but personal terms are being offered by rivals Man United.

Mourinho’s team is thus the favorites to land Bale, as he would earn more at Old Trafford. Furthermore, the Special One is a known admirer of the Welshman, having attempted to sign him last year.

Man United has not been put off by the attacker’s injury-laden career as of late and is thus preparing a third bid for the 28-year-old. The club is confident that Mourinho’s regime will see Bale return to top fitness.

However, the Real Madrid ace won’t come cheap. With four more years remaining on his current deal with the  Champions League holder, Los Blancos is likely to demand a fee in the region of the $132m they paid for him back in 2013.

Selling the Welshman, however, isn't their immediate concern - their game against Atletico Madrid is. Zidane's crew heads into the first Madrid Derby of this season knowing they must win in order to remain in touching distance of Barcleona.
