The Man City started the friendly, scoring in the first-half before blacking out during the break.

On Tuesday, Argentina striker Sergio Aguero suffered a scare, being rushed to hospital after going through dizzy spells during the friendly clash with Nigeria. The Man City forward started that game and scored in the first-half, but the Argentine Football Association later tweeted that he “had a blackout” at half-time.

The 29-year-old was thus taken to hospital for a checkup. “Routine studies as a precaution” were carried out, according to La Albiceleste, with the player later being discharged.

Sampaoli revealed after the game that the striker suffered dizzy spells and was thus forced to leave. His employer Man City also released a statement, clearing up the air surrounding his visit to the hospital.

“Sergio never lost consciousness, and was taken to hospital for precautionary medical checks. He will be assessed by the club’s medical team ahead of this weekend’s Premier League trip to Leicester City,” the Citizens wrote.

This means that while he is not guaranteed to feature for Guardiola’s side over the weekend, he is in contention. The attacker has been cleared by doctors to return to Manchester and should be back in England.

Aguero’s scare was one of two woes for Argentina on Tuesday – the other being their 4-2 defeat to Nigeria. The two-time World Cup champion took a two-goal lead but suffered a comeback loss at the hands of the Super Eagles. Cracks continue to emerge for Sampaoli’s side.

Kun will be hoping for better luck when the Premier League leader travels to King Power Stadium on Saturday. Having beaten Arsenal prior to the international break, Man City will be hoping to maintain their winning run.
