The Portuguese ace didn't criticize their replacements, but hinted that some players that left the club were crucial for the team's recent success.

Cristiano Ronaldo directed some harsh words to the team's hierarchy following yesterday's 3-1 loss against Tottenham, as he disguised his discomfort over the team's transfer business this summer during the post-match interviews.

The Portuguese ace admitted that, even if those players who replaced Pepe, James Rodriguez and Morata are talented, they still lack the much needed experience to perform correctly in European games. Their absence, according to CR7, has taken a toll on Real Madrid's results.

"I think that the players that got here are very talented, but they are still very young. Honestly, every club needs big players; Pepe was a great player, Morata was a great player, James as well, and all of them made us stronger. Those who joined the team are great, but they still need to develop," Cristiano stated.

"We are also missing Carvajal, we're missing Bale and we're also missing those players who are currently injured. When we're all fit, the team is stronger. But we can't make excuses, we have to keep confident and try to turn this around," CR7 added.

Stats: Real Madrid's attack is not as effective as it used to be

Cristiano Ronaldo's claims seem to be true, especially when it comes to goals scored.

Added to the Portuguese's slow start of the season, the contribution by Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez isn't the only thing Real Madrid is missing. The team hasn't been as accurate as it used to be, especially because they need more shots on goal to score during this season's games.

Until November 1, 2016, Real Madrid had played 15 games, scoring 47 goals in all comps. This season, having played three more games, Los Blancos have only scored 36 times.

Things don't improve when you look at the team's assists department. Last year, with Morata & James into the mix, Los Blancos's players had assisted their team-mates 32 times. This season, their numbers have gone all the way down to 21 assists in 18 games.

In order to score goals last season, Real Madrid needed 2.59 shots to send the ball into the back of the net. This year, Los Blancos average 3.63 shots taken for every goal scored. Maybe the team is lacking ideas or luck, but having a lack of talented and experienced backups, the team's performances have taken a plunge.
