The Premier League top-scorer has been ruled out of Saturday's crucial clash, but here's why Spurs fans need not to despair.

Tottenham have received a huge blow ahead of their crucial clash with Man United on Saturday. The north London giants will make the trip to Old Trafford for the early kick-off, but will sadly be without Harry Kane.

The talisman forward has continued his fine form in front of goal despite an early-season hiccup.  He has eight goals in nine top-flight games this term, sitting on top in the goalscorers chart.

However, the English came off with an injury during the 4-1 win over Liverpool last weekend. Kane had scored a brace in the impressive victory, but was seen clutching his hamstring shortly before the final whistle.

There was initial hope that the striker could pass a late fitness test in order to face Man United. Those dreams, however, were quickly dashed on Friday when it was revealed that he would miss the game due to a "a minor strain to the left hamstring".

"The doctor and medical staff made the decision to not take the risk," Pochettino said, as per BBC Sport.

"There is no sense in taking that risk and making the problem bigger."

With 13 goals in 12 games in all competitions, Kane will be missed by the visitors on Saturday. The Red Devils, who are tied on points but ahead of Spurs on goal difference, can breathe a sigh of relief but should not be over confident.

Last season in the Premier League, the 24-year-old missed eight games. Tottenham still scored 13 goals, conceding only five, en route to five wins and three draws.

Pochettino gave his thoughts on when the forward will return. Insisting that his injury is “minor”, the Argentine boss said he could be back in time for the Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
