The French starlet beat Ousmane Dembelé and Gabriel Jesús to the prize, setting a new record among all winners.

Kylian Mbappé hasn't turned 20, and he's already setting records when it comes to winning awards.

Today, Italian journal Tuttosport unveiled Mbappé's name as the winner of the 2017 Golden Boy award, beating Ousmane Dembele and Gabriel Jesús to the nomination.

Mbappé made history by winning this award with 291 of the 300 points available to determine the winner. No player in history had gathered as many votes as the French star.

PSG's rising star became the third Frenchman to take the trophy home. Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial had claimed the trophy in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Other winners of this award include Lionel Messi (2005), Mario Balotelli (2010) and Raheem Sterling (2014), to name a few.

The Golden Boy award has been handed since 2003. The election involves 30 football experts from European countries.
