Contrary to what some would believe, Real Madrid's main man wouldn't like Barcelona to be kicked out of La Liga if the Catalan Independence is announced.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Español, Pérez admitted his desire to keep Los Blaugranas in La Liga, even if the league's regulations forbid foreign teams to participate in the domestic tournament. Barcelona would fall into that category if the Catalan Independence goes through.
"I can't imagine La Liga without Barcelona, and I can't imagine Spain without Catalunya. Therefore, I can't answer something about an issue I can't get through my head," Pérez stated.
Pérez also addressed the issue about Cristiano Ronaldo's tax evasion charges. According to Real Madrid's president, the Portuguese striker is fully focused on what happens on the pitch.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is unconcerned about that, because he's a man with only one fixation: his career. He has a clear conscience, he knows he did nothing wrong, and that's why he keeps concentrated in winning Ballon D'Ors and The Best awards. I believe he'll win both of them in the next few months," Pérez added.
