Cavani linked with EPL move

Cavani linked with Premier League move after Neymar bust-up

September 20, 2017 By Ali M.
A bust-up with the world's most expensive player could see the Uruguayan's time in Paris come to an end.

Rumors of a row between Edinson Cavani and Neymar escalate by the day, with the Uruguayan now being linked with a move away from Paris. This comes after the two South American aces fell out during the 2-0 win over Lyon in Ligue 1.

The disagreement began over a set-piece and penalty, as Neymar wanted to take them over the unwilling Cavani. The Uruguayan even refused to hand over a spot-kick before seeing his attempt saved by the goalkeeper.

L’Equipe claim that the two attackers clashed in the dressing room after the final, with fellow PSG players stepping in to hold them apart. Sport then reported that the Selecao ace demanded Nasser Al-Khelaïfi sell the 30-year-old, as they cannot play side by side in harmony.

Chelsea and Everton are two English clubs interested in the Uruguayan, according to the Daily Mail, whilst a return to Napoli remains an option. However, a number of things hinder him joining any three of those clubs.

His wages, around £120,000 a week after tax, will be hard to match given his age, with Napoli likely to offer him a pay cut. Cavani is tired of playing second-fiddle, but Chelsea unfortunately cannot guarantee him a starting role given Alvaro Morata’s hot form.

Everton, on the other hand, would find it nearly impossible to offer the 30-year-old Champions League football. Selling the striker could help the Ligue 1 leaders balance the books, but finding a suitor could prove difficult.

Reconciliation is the best option, as a strike force of Neymar, Cavani, and Mbappe would be unstoppable. Whether the Brazilian and the Uruguayan can kiss and make up remains the question.
