Just a few hours ahead of Monday night’s Arsenal vs Chelsea match, the French manager spoke to reporters as he shared his troubles concerning the game’s “Didier Drogba factor”. Besides the remarkable record that the Ivorian player holds against the Gunners, there is also something else that could threaten Arsenal more than ever: it’s all about Didier Drogba’s unquenchable thirst to hit top form for the first time since a few weeks now.

Following the promise made by Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti that Blues fans would see a “different Drogba” at the Emirates Stadium, Coach Arsene Wenger is now thinking of organizing his players well for the battle that the Ivorian striker is set to pose. Unlike some proud Arsenal supporters who may overlook the value of Drogba, Coach Arsene Wenger prefers to be realistic based on facts as he avowed:

“Drogba has always been very efficient against us. He is a big game player. Recently, when Chelsea were in trouble against Tottenham Hotspur, who turned up? It was Drogba again.

“When you play against Chelsea, he is the guy that you need to keep quiet. The way he works in tandem with Frank Lampard is also important.

“Lampard always finds Drogba when he plays, so we’ve got to stop that. If you look at statistics, defending against Didier Drogba is one of the keys – if not the biggest key – of the game.”

Chelsea fans will be hoping that their star striker doesn’t get flattered by Arsene Wenger’s comments. Meanwhile, the Gunners are looking to come out victors from the Arsenal vs Chelsea match which will somehow determine which team is more likely to stay in contention for the English Premier League title.
