The French boss analyzed the status of his squad, praising the Portuguese ace, Sergio Ramos and even under-fire striker Karim Benzema.

While some Real Madrid supporters may not share his views, coach Zinedine Zidane admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo is a crucial member of the team, even when he's not playing.

Speaking in an interview with beIN Sports, "Zizou" revealed details about the team's daily work, and how Cristiano Ronaldo has been key for other members of the squad to accept his questioned but effective rotations policy.

"It was easy (having CR7 rest), because he knows himself and he's very smart. This players believe in me, and Cristiano, who's the best of them all, helps me lead them to where we want to be," Zidane stated.

Ronaldo and Zidane have been in tune with each other since the French legend took over as Real Madrid's boss.

Zidane kept on sharing his views on the team and what he wants from his players, even when facing top-caliber opponents.

"I have extraordinary players at my disposal, and I want them to play properly. I don't want them to run that much, I want them to control the ball and pass it around so we can have more possession, even against Barcelona," Zidane added.

The 1998 World Cup winner took time to define three crucial players in his system, sparing no praise for his captain and two of his strikers.

"Ramos is our leader, Cristiano is an alien and Karim Benzema is pure talent," Zidane concluded.
