Here's how things look in Group G ahead of the match

Preview

Italy come into this game in a rather unfamiliar position - having lost a qualifying match. The Azzurri had been on a 56 game unbeaten streak, extending all the way back to 2006. That is, until they took on familiar foes Spain this past weekend and were thoroughly beaten 3-0. Giampiero Ventura was slammed by the Italian press for using a 4-2-4 approach, which was a big change from the usual 3-5-2 set-up favored by the national team, but there are still reports that the ex-Torino boss could use the same formation again as the Azzurri welcome Israel.

The loss cost Italy more than just three points. Leonardo Bonucci picked up a yellow card, meaning that he will now be suspended for this match, and that leaves the team now without him and Giorgio Chiellini, who already had to miss the clash with Spain due to injury. Currently in second spot, Italy more likely than not will have to secure their spot in next year's World Cup via the play-offs, which could see them take on any of the second placed teams across the groups.

As for Israel, they will be hoping to make a late push for second, but that's highly unlikely to happen. For starters, their upcoming opponents may have seen their 11 year unbeaten run end last weekend, but they've never lost to Israel and are highly unlikely to do so on Tuesday - although Israel did manage to draw them in a World Cup match (a scoreless stalemate back in 1970).

Preview

Suffice it to say, one will not find a more lopsided clash than Liechtenstein vs. Spain - perhaps except for San Marino taking on Germany. The hosts have yet to pick up a single point in this group and thus have been already eliminated, whilst the visitors come into this match having crushed Italy 3-0 to sit comfortable on top of Group G.

The Azzurri were expected to be Spain's toughest opponent, yet they brushed them aside with ease over the weekend, which obviously does not bode well for Liechtenstein. Whilst unfortunately David Villa will reportedly be missing out due to injury, as this would have been the perfect game for the veteran striker to get some more minutes, Julen Lopetegui has drafted in Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez to replace him.

Whoever starts won't really matter - Spain are expected to cruise to a very comfortable win and as for the hosts, it's simply going to be a matter of damage control and keeping the score-line as low as possible to avoid an utter embarrassment in front of their home crowd.
