With the Transfer Deadline Day completely shut for all teams, any pending transfers were limited to those in which paperwork was submitted earlier. After hours of negotiations, EPL Champions Chelsea unveiled former Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater as their new player.

Drinkwater will re-unite with former team-mate N'Golo Kanté, hoping to take Nemanja Matic's spot in Antonio Conte's lineup.

In what has turned out to be quite a disappointing Transfer Deadline Day, most rumors fell short of coming close to being true. But one that almost happened and was dismissed at the last minute was Ross Barkley's move to Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports, the player had already agreed terms with the Blues, but he decided to change his mind during his medical examination. Hence, the player will remain playing for Everton this season.

Following weeks of rumors, Kylian Mbappé will join Neymar and Edinson Cavani at the French capital, as PSG & Monaco have agreed to negotiate the player on a loan deal. The French giants will have to pay the current Ligue 1 champions €135M as the sign in fee with €45M add-ons next summer, in order to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.

Arsenal have failed to land Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco, The Guardian reports. According to the narrative, the Gunners were ready to table the €100M the French club was asking for. However, Arsene Wenger and the board may want to blame this failure on the calendar.

With the international break, Lemar is busy representing his country ahead of today's crucial World Cup qualifying showdown against the Netherlands. It's therefore too late for Arsenal to package the new deal appropriately. Having failed to get the signature of Thomas Lemar, there is no way the reigning FA Cup winners will agree to let Alexis Sanchez leave.

If the Lemar deal had gone through, Sanchez could have been a Manchester City player by now. The Citizens had recently offered £55M plus a £5M add-on for the Chilean striker.

As of 9:01 AM ET

The best young player at the 2016 UEFA European Championship has joined English Premier League club Swansea City on loan. Renato Sanches struggled to get playing time in Germany following his top move to Bayern Munich. He is expected to find back his rhythm in England.

As of 8:55 AM ET
