Here's how things look in Group A ahead of the match

Preview

As things stand, it looks set to be a battle between Sweden and France for top spot in Group A, which will guarantee the winner an automatic ticket to the tournament next year in Russia. However, a win for the Netherlands, who have struggled so far in qualifying, would obviously change that.

Didier Deschamps has notably left out Ousmane Dembele due to the youngster's prior ongoing battle with Borussia Dortmund as he attempted to force through a transfer to Barcelona, but Kylian Mbappe, who looks set to join PSG on loan from Monaco is in the squad. Antoine Griezmann will naturally be expected to help lead the line, and it will be very interesting to see which Arsenal striker - Alexandre Lacazette or Olivier Giroud - Deschamps selects to pair with the Atletico Madrid man in attack.

Meanwhile, whilst Deschamps is spoilt for attacking options, his tactical opponent is facing a major defensive crisis. Virgil van Dijk, Nathan Ake, Daryl Janmaat and Jeffrey Bruma are all unavailable for selection, and in a bid to give them some firepower, Dick Advocaat has opted to re-call veteran striker Robin Van Persie, who has not featured for the Oranje in well over a year.
