This could be another blow to the Gunners less than 24 hours after their 4-0 loss at Anfield.

Barely a day has gone by since Liverpool humiliated Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield in the Premier League, and yet they are reportedly set to hand the Gunners another huge blow.

The Reds have reportedly launched a record bid for long-term Arsenal target Thomas Lemar. This is according to L’Equipe, claiming that the Merseyside giants hope to convince Monaco to sell after the north London outfit gave up.

Wenger made three bids for the Monaco ace, his last being worth £50m. However, the Ligue 1 champions rejected all attempts by Le Prof, forcing him to call the deal dead.

Klopp looks to change all of that with a record move. Liverpool are willing to offer £74m for the 21-year-old Frenchman, who is interested in a move to England despite being under contract at Monaco until 2021.

£66.5m will be offered up front, followed by £7.4m in bonuses. This would make Lemar Liverpool’s most expensive signing, surpassing the current record set by Mohamed Salah’s £39m arrival.

If the Reds land the French winger, it would only escalate the anger and frustration among Arsenal supporters. After signing Kolasinac and Lacazette, Wenger has gone quiet in the transfer market despite the team needing quality additions.
