Striker Lionel Messi reached 100 penalty kicks taken in his career, and the outcome wasn't the one everyone expected.
"La Pulga" failed to give Barcelona the lead against Alavés during the first half after having his spot kick denied by Fernando Pacheco. With this missed chance, La Liga's all-time top scorer reached ten spot kicks missed in the Spanish competition, matching Cristiano Ronaldo's amount of penalties denied/missed.
