Chicago Fire hoping that home advantage will help against high flying Toronto

Chicago Fire

The hosts come into this game having lost 3-0 to Montreal Impact. That marks the second straight defeat for them after losing 3-1 to Columbus Crew, and means that they now have lost four out of their last five matches. Still, Fire have managed to win their last nine games on home turf, but will need key man Nemanja Nikolic, who is only behind David Villa in the goalscorer's charts to be up and running if they want to successfully overcome their Toronto hoodoo.

The hosts have been dealt major blows, especially in defense with injuries to first-choice defenders Matt Polster and Brandon Vincent, as well as another option,  Joao Meira. All three are major doubts for this fixture, meaning that Veljko Paunovic will again have to re-think and reshuffle ahead of welcoming the Eastern Conference leaders on Saturday.

Toronto

As things stand, Toronto are on top of the Eastern Conference, with a four point lead over NYC FC. They are unbeaten in their last five games, albeit have drawn three of those matches and come into this match having thoroughly thrashed Portland 4-1. It goes without saying that the conference leaders will want to exploit Chicago's shaky defense, especially considering that their opponents are dealing with a major injury crisis ahead of this fixture.

That being said, Toronto are certainly aware of how strong Chicago are at home and will not be taking this game lightly, despite their opponents' recent slump in form.
