Today marks the 25th anniversary of everyone's favorite top-flight league. To celebrate this occasion, we give you the top five unforgettable champions.

Today is the birthday of the Premier League. The most exciting top-flight competition in Europe turns 25, and on this special occasion, many have been reminiscing the seasons of past.

Many clubs have gotten their hands on the coveted title, some wins being more remarkable than other. To celebrate the birthday of the English top-flight, we give to you the top five unforgettable title wins since the competition was re-branded.

5. The first ever Premier League success: Man United

In 1992/93, the Premier League was launched. The inaugural campaign saw the likes of Man United, Aston Villa, Norwich, Blackburn, and even Arsenal push for the crown.

However, the league went to the Red Devils –England’s most successful team winning the first Premier League title almost sounds perfect.

This win was unforgettable for a number of reasons: it was their first title in 26 years, it launched Sir Alex Ferguson’s dominance over the competition, and the Red Devils won the league by 10 points despite trailing Aston Villa for the majority of the campaign.

4. Chelsea’s record 04/05 title

Chelsea were not the Premier League giants they are today when they won the 2004/05 title. The arrival of Jose Mourinho, who immediately signed Didier Drogba, saw them shatter records to become top-flight champions for the first time in 50 years, winning the crown with the most points in a single season: 95.

Now, the Blues are one of England’s most feared sides.

3. Man City wins the title at home to QPR

“Aguerooo!” Who can forget commentator Martin Tyler’s unforgettable scream as the Argentine scored in stoppage time to win Man City the league with virtually the last kick off the game.

Two goals in extra time saw the Citizens triumph 3-2 over QPR, beating Man United to the crown on goal difference. It was Man City’s first title since 1968.

2. Leicester shock the heavyweight to lift the league

The Premier League is one of the highest-spending leagues, but in 15/16, Leicester showed heart and passion can trump money.

The trio of Kante, Mahrez, and Vardy that only cost £6,950,000 helped the Foxes beat Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Man United, Liverpool, and Chelsea to the crown. The best David and Goliath story in modern day football, Leicester’s success will never be forgotten.

1. The Invincibles

Two of the Premier League’s biggest appeals are its unpredictability and competitiveness. Unlike many other leagues in Europe which are two-horse races, an English title-favorite can win at Old Trafford in one round and then lose to a mid-table team the following.

As a result, the feat Arsenal reached en route to the title may never be broken – or matched. The Gunners went unbeaten for an entire season in 03/04, and continued that run for 49 straight game. Furthermore, the sealed the title at White Hart Lane, the former home of bitter rivals Tottenham.
