The Portuguese boss revealed the Red Devils' intentions of luring the Welsh ace away to Old Trafford.

If you thought the game between Manchester United and Real Madrid would be without controversy, then you'll have to think again.

During his pre-match press conference, José Mourinho left a couple of gems for fans to talk about. One of them involving his past as Real Madrid coach, and the other one regarding his team's future, which has been linked with a transfer rumor surrounding Gareth Bale.

First, Mourinho referred to his three seasons as Los Blancos' boss, and he left no stone unturned when asked about how he arrived to and how he left the Spanish club.

"When I got there, Real Madrid wasn't a top club. Even with all the team's past accolades, they couldn't get past the Quarter finals in the UEFA Champions League. Their best footballers had never played a quarter final match, and after I left, they had played three straight semis," Mourinho recalled.

"I left the club with the peace of mind you get when you try your best. I also left there without the desire to play the blaming game on anyone. I'll say hi to all of my former players, and I'll do that with pleasure," Mourinho added.

Regarding his current squad, Mourinho admitted that Gareth Bale's playing style seduces him, and if he is available to be signed, then the Red Devils would make anything in their power to have him playing at Old Trafford.

"If Bale plays tomorrow, then it's a sign for the world to know that he plans to stay there. If he doesn't, I'll fight to sign him with other suitors. If he's shown the exit door, I'd be glad to hold it for him while waiting on the other side," the coach concluded.
