The Portuguese manager went on and revealed the positions he'd like to boost this summer, even if the club needs to spend more cash.

If you're a Manchester United fan and wanted your team to sign top-caliber players, you should blame other teams for paying massive amounts of cash to boost their squads.

At least that's what Jose Mourinho hinted in Tuesday's press conference ahead of the final game of the Red Devils' U.S. tour. According to The Special One, Manchester United will have a tough time adding more players to their squad, given the massive amounts being paid by other teams in the world.

"Ed Woodward is in control. He did Lindelof and Lukaku. He knows that I would like two more players but he also knows that I have balance, I understand the situation, I understand the market and if my club is not able to do two players and just one then I will accept that as a consequence of the market now," Mourinho said.

In fact, the Portuguese tactician pointed out the two spots on his starting XI where he would like to have one more player added.

"I am happy with my squad but I would like to have two more players. One player would be a midfield player that would give me more options and more balance to the team. Another one would be an attacking player - especially that can play through the wings," Mourinho added.

Mou's claims about how hard it will be for Man Utd to add talent to their squad are backed by the impressive sums of money paid by Chelsea to sign Alvaro Morata, or the potential deal that would see Kylian Mbappé join Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Mourinho's men will play their final pre-season match in the U.S. against Barcelona, a team that is also involved in a big-money transfer rumor, with Neymar eyeing an exit to join PSG for more than €200M.
