Real Madrid confirmed earlier today the signing of rising midfielder Dani Ceballos, who led Spain to the second place in the UEFA U-21 championship this summer. Ceballos is a highly praised creative midfielder, who had played for Real Betis for the past three seasons.
The player was reportedly sought out by Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer, and to Blaugrana fans dismay, the midfielder chose to join Los Blancos on a reported fee of €18 million.

Ceballos' signing represents a new effort by Florentino Pérez to add Spanish players to the team, with rising talents like Marco Asensio, Alvaro Morata, Isco and Ceballos leading the pack.
The player reacted to the announcement on social media with two messages. The first was directed to his former club, Real Betis, while the other one targeted Real Madrid's fans. Here's the second message, along with its translation.
"You can't imagine how proud I feel for being handed the responsibility of playing for Real Madrid. I'll do my best to make the team's history even bigger.
