The ongoing transfer saga involving the Chilean star takes another rumored twist.

The future of Alexis Sanchez continues to be a worrying point for Arsenal and its fans. Every day, conflicting news emerges. Saturday now has the Chilean ace leaving the Gunners.

According to O Jogo, the former Barcelona attacker has decided to leave Emirates Stadium after the disastrous 2016/17 campaign in which the Gunners finished fifth in the league. The South American ace’s preferred destination is Man City.

The 28-year-old’s contract expires next summer, in 2018. So far, contract negotiations haven’t progressed well, which means Wenger must sell Sanchez this summer or risk losing him for nothing the following year should no extension be signed.

The player is keen to reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola. The report claims that a recent conversation between the Chilean and Spanish tactician “helped speed up the business process”.

Arsenal’s number seven has reached a verbal agreement with the Citizens, the report states, with personal terms having been ironed out. Those involved in the talks believe that the deal is near completion.

Alexis will reportedly cost Man City in the region of £50m. Wenger’s side will still do their best to avoid seeing another one of their star players join a direct rival.
