And much to the fans liking, we could see two quick-fire Barcelona vs Real Madrid encounters. According to Real Madrid TV (as per Marca), Spain’s two top dogs could face off in the space of four days.
Since Los Blancos were crowned league champions, and the Blaugrana lifted another Copa del Rey title last season, the two giants will go head-to-head in La Liga’s curtain raiser: Supercopa de Espana.
Real Madrid TV have the first-leg of the Spanish Super Cup down for August 11, which is a Friday. Three days later, the second leg will commence.
Furthermore, they predict that the first-leg tie will be held at Camp Nou, followed by a Santiago Bernabeu affair. The RFEF is yet to confirm this.
It should be noted that the first Clasico will occur in Miami when Barcelona and Real Madrid lock horns in the International Champions Cup. However, the lineups for that match will probably feature a number of youngsters.
Supercopa de Espana will be the first heated encounter between Spain’s most successful clubs.
