The deal will be announced in the next 48 hours, as Conte is set to complete his first major signing of the summer.

Chelsea finally appear ready to make their first major signing of the summer. The Blues have been quite in the transfer market, much to Conte’s frustration, but one of their major targets has arrived in London.

That man is Tiemoue Bakayoko, the Frenchman who bossed Monaco’s midfield en route to the Ligue 1 title. The 22-year-old has touched down in the English capital ahead of a medical.

The player will be revealed by the Premier League champions in the next 48 hours. Conte, despite winning the title in his debut season, is keen on injecting dynamism into his starting lineup.

According to RTL, the Monaco ace arrived in London on Monday. The Frenchman will cost Chelsea £35m, a reasonable fee during the current inflated market. Bakayoko will partner N’Golo Kante in midfield should the deal be completed.

If Bakayoko completes his Stamford Bridge move, this will clear the path for Nemanja Matic’s exit. The Serbian partnered Kante last season, but is now free to leave the Premier League champions.

Man United is his rumored destination. Mourinho, the man who brought Matic to London, is keen on reuniting with the midfielder. Seen as a replacement for Michael Carrick, the Serbian could cost the Red Devils £40m.
