Once add-ons are included, the attacker will cost the Reds £40m

Liverpool, who are gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season, are working hard in the transfer market. According to the Daily Mail, their next target – an attacker – will complete his Anfield move soon.

That man is none other than Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian ace is on the brink of completing his move after being given the green light to fly to London to complete his medical.

Once completed, this will draw the curtains on Liverpool’s attempts to buy the Chelsea reject, which began last month. Talks with his Serie A employers have been ongoing despite the Italian giants rejecting a £28m bid from the Reds.

Once add-ons are included, Salah will reportedly cost Klopp’s side £40m. That price exceeds the £35m spent on club-record signing Andy Carroll.

Salah will add much-needed pace to Liverpool’s attack, something they lacked during Sadio Mane’s absence – through injury and the Africa Cup of Nations. The Egyptian will earn £90,000 per week and is due to leave for England on Tuesday morning.

Salah will be Klopp’s second signing since the end of last season – his first being Dominic Solanke. The Virgil van Dijk links have cooled down after Liverpool were accused of tapping up the player, whilst moves for Aubameyang and Naby Keita appear unlikely.
