The biggest rumor in the transfer market is that of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star has reportedly informed Real Madrid that he will be leaving Spain this summer, as the race to land the 32-year-old begins.
The Red Devils are tipped as favorites to sign the Ballon d’Or king. This comes as no surprise – the four-time Ballon d’Or enjoyed six successful seasons at Old Trafford and remains a fan of the 20-time Premier League champions.
Recent speculation claims the Portugal captain has informed agent Jorge Mendes to make his Man United move happen. Cristiano is currently on international duty, where he is focused on the FIFA Confederations Cup
Man United would benefit a lot from signing Ronaldo. However, according to AS, the Premier League giants would still profit from Cristiano leaving Santiago Bernabeu regardless of his destination.
The Spanish publication writes that all three of Cristiano’s previous clubs are entitled to 5% of a transfer fee Real Madrid receive for the Portuguese superstar. Of the 5%, 2.5% goes to the English giants.
Sporting will receive 2.25% whilst 0.25% goes to National. With the player likely to cost €120m, €3m would go to Man United; €2.7m to Sporting; and €300,000 to National.
