The Ballon d'Or favorite is reportedly adamant on leaving Spain after his tax fraud accusations.

The entire world – Real Madrid fans in particular – is still taking in reports of a Cristiano Ronaldo exit. The Portuguese superstar is set to have informed the Champions League holders of his desire to leave the Spanish capital.

The four-time Ballon d’Or winner faces a formal lawsuit for tax fraud, being accused of defrauding the government of around £13m. This accusation as angered the 32-year-old who has now decided to leave Spain.

Furthermore, it is believed that he is upset with the 12-time Champions League winners for not better supporting him during this legal battle. Ronaldo has informed the board of his “irreversible” decision and could explore new clubs after the FIFA Confederations Cup.

However, according to the Sun, Cristiano has already decided where his next destination will be. The British tabloid writes that he has his mind set on returning to former club Man United.

This is not the first time the Portugal captain has been linked with a second spell at Old Trafford. It was at the Theatre of Dreams where Cristiano rose to the top of world football.

His love for the fans and Sir Alex Ferguson could prove pivotal, according to the report. The legendary Scottish boss would have to play peacemaker between Cristiano and current boss Jose Mourinho, with the Portuguese duo having fallen out during their time at Los Blancos together.

The Spanish champions want £150m for their all-time leading scorer. Man United are not willing to spend that much on a 32-year-old, and are thus plotting a double-swoop for Cristiano and Morata. The Red Devils are willing to pay Ronaldo’s asking price and throw in De Gea into the deal to convince Real Madrid.
