The Portuguese boss has once again made an advance to re-sign the Mexican striker. Will the 'Little Pea' have a second stint with the Red Devils?

Fans who blamed Louis Van Gaal for Chicharito's departure back in 2015 could have the Mexican striker back...or at least, it seems that it's José Mourinho's desire.

Speaking in an interview with Bundesliga's website, The Special One praised the player's goal scoring instinct, and hinted that he could bring in quite a bit of goals if he had played for the Red Devils this season.

"I give a simple example — in the way we play at Old Trafford, in the way we dominate opponents, in the way we play in the box, I think Chicharito would have scored 20 goals easy. Even coming from the bench for the last 10 or 20 minutes, he would have 20 goals," Mourinho stated.

Hernández was Bayer Leverkusen's top scorer this season, with 12 goals to his name in all competitions.

Mourinho continued his analysis on how Chicharito benefits from the other team's mistakes, and how he is used to create opportunities for himself, even if he doesn't score that much.

"He is the guy that naturally the ball comes here, rebound here, rebounds there, boom, goal. The goalkeeper saves, he goes there, boom, goal. The cross is coming, he anticipates the first-post header, goal," the Portuguese boss added.

Hernández spent four seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 59 goals for Manchester United. His contribution started to diminish under David Moyes, with Louis Van Gaal eventually forcing his exit on loan to Real Madrid. After a one-year spell with Los Blancos, LVG sent the player's bags to Leverkusen, where he's been Die Werkself's top scorer in two consecutive seasons.

With the German club out of European competitions, Mourinho could use a reliable striker around for his second season as Manchester United's boss. If there was ever a chance to see the Mexican ace playing again for the Red Devils, this could be it.
