The Spanish striker is in search of regular playing time as the 2018 World Cup draws closer.

The mystery surrounding the future of Alvaro Morata appears to be over. After failing to nail down a spot in the starting eleven in his second spell at Los Blancos, the Spaniard has decided to leave Santiago Bernabeu once more.

The striker’s agent Juanma Lopez met with the club’s officials to inform them of his decision, according to Marca. With this being World Cup year, the former Juventus ace needs more playing time to be considered for Russia 2018.

The Telegraph add that Morata has decided where he will go next. The British publication claims that his mind is made up on joining Premier League giants Manchester United.

Personal terms have reportedly already been agreed. All that remains is for the Red Devils to agree on a transfer fee with the 12-time Champions League winners.

This is where the move could get complicated. Mourinho’s side are ready to offer €70m for the 24-year-old, but Real Madrid want €90m for the attacker.

Morata hinted at his preference towards an Old Trafford move after following Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Ibrahimovic, David de Gea, Adnan Januzaj, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney on Instagram.

Mourinho has worked before with Alvaro, handing him his Real Madrid debut during the Special One’s Bernabeu reign. After giving up on Romelu Lukaku, Jose is now focused on signing the Spaniard to bolster Man United’s attack.
