The 2017 UEFA Champions League final hit top viewing and ratings records on Fox networks.

FOX Sports 1's 40 per cent viewership increase compared to the previous season for the telecast of UEFA Champions League matches was not FOX networks' only milestone as the 2017 UCL final set records on its own on June 3.

Twitter's soccer planet outshined other spheres with 1.130 million tweets talking about what was happening in Cardiff between two European heavyweights.

1.3 million homes across the United States tuned into the Champions League final to witness Real Madrid's annihilation of Junventus. As per the calculations of data company Nielsen, this amounts to approximately 2.2 million spectators.

Only Barcelona's 2011 UEFA Champions League final triumph at Wembley was watched in more households (1.4M) and gathered more viewers (2.6M) in the history of FOX broadcasting network's Champions League finals numbers.

The viewership on FOX Deportes (1.452M) also nearly matched that of the 2011 UCL final (1.571M).

Remarkably, the viewership across FOX and FOX Deportes peaked at 4.420 million right towards the end of the match as American subscribers rushed to witness the emotional celebrations of Real Madrid's players, coaches and traveling fans.
