Both players had their say about Alves' desire to recall the 1998 edition of the tournament, where Los Blancos benefitted from an wrongfully allowed goal.

Dani Alves started the fire, and Sergio Ramos & Marcelo decided to put it out.

Speaking in today's pre-match press conference, Real Madrid's defenders and co-captains played down Alves' words during Juventus' presser, where Alves tried to pick up a fight against anyone willing to reply.

Ramos was the first one to pick up the microphone, delivering a classy line to reply to the Brazilian's words.

"I don't care what he says. I respect his thoughts and everyone else's. I'll say hello when kick-off takes place and that's it," Ramos stated.

Alves' compatriot got a bit more entangled, but he refused to deliver the "killer blow".

"It's a Champions League final, and everyone's trying to put the pressure on the other in any way they can. He can say whateve he wants, but we know why we're here. We know what we have to do to defend our team," Marcelo added.

The Spanish defender admitted that scoring late goals for Los Blancos has become sort of his trademark move, and in order to keep it that way, he tries to look ahead instead on looking back on what he's accomplished.

"The team's spirit and history inspires us to fight until the end. We've got a chance until the final whistle is blown, and hopefully, we won't have to suffer as much as we did in Lisbon. I hope we can walk out of this one with the title," Ramos concluded.
