Barcelona will travel to Cornella-El Prat to play their local rivals Espanyol on Saturday. Barcelona vs Espanyol appears as the Catalans’ toughest match so far, according to striker Pedro.
Barcelona have regained their inexorable power after surprisingly losing to Hercules earlier in the season. They trashed Sevilla and Real Madrid in La Liga and now they are about to affront Espanyol as the campaign continues.

Despite the away factor, Barcelona are still very much favorites to record 3 more points which could see them create a 5-point lead at the top of the table before Real Madrid will host Sevilla on Sunday.

However, Pedro has advised his team mates to keep avoiding complacency as local rivals Espanyol appear as tough challengers. Barcelona’s official website quoted the young Spaniard as saying:

“The Espanyol match is the hardest match we could play right now. They are very strong. There’s also a lot of rivalry between us.

“We know how much they want to beat us and we both live these games with passion and intensity. Espanyol will play aggressively and we’ll have to be clever if we want to play well and beat them.”

Espanyol have been impressive in La Liga this season. Wins against Getafe, Real Mallorca, Hercules and Atletico Madrid earlier on have helped them to rank 4th in the standings. What can they do against La Liga’s leaders Barcelona?
