Real Madrid are usually successful in the transfer market, as their status and financial power permits them to go after any player. However, the Spanish giants look set to miss out on one huge target: Eden Hazard.
The Belgian ace has long been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu. The player and Zinedine Zidane share a great level of admiration for one another, with the Chelsea ace naming the French World Cup winner as his idol.
The player has either had a change in heart or was never eyeing a Real Madrid move, as the Belgian revealed in an interview that he wishes to remain in London. He told Het Nieuwsblad (as per the Sun) that contract negotiations with the Premier League champions will begin soon after returning to his best in 2016/17.

Hazard has been influential for Conte, hence the club’s desire to ward off interest in their magician at all cost. This is a sharp turn from the 2015/16 campaign in which a rumored rift with Mourinho appeared enough to force Hazard out the door.
