The Argentinean midfielder left the pitch with a gruesome cut to the left side of his head after clashing with Alaves' Marcos Llorente.

A gruesome incident took place during the early minutes of the game between Barcelona and Alavés, as Javier Mascherano had to be stretchered out of the pitch with a nasty cut to the left side of his head.

The injury covered a portion of his head with blood, as both team-mates and opponents tried to avoid further damage to his legs, given that when he fell to the ground, he seemed to be unconscious.
