Manchester United knew they were hiring a winner when they decided to give Jose Mourinho the team's coaching duties, and now, the Portuguese manager will have to live up to that reputation.
Ever since his debut as coach, The Special One has collected trophies everywhere he's managed, and his record in crucial games is something to have under consideration ahead of Wednesday's tie against Ajax.
Mourinho led Porto and Chelsea to four final matches, adding two more with Inter and Real Madrid, respectively. He's already directed the Red Devils to one more final, giving us some interesting numbers to analyze.
Out of those thirteen games, Mourinho has led his teams to 11 wins, with a success rate of 84%. The Special One only lost one out of four finals with Porto (a Portuguese Cup clash against Benfica) and the 2013 Copa del Rey final against Atlético Madrid, both of them after extra time.
Needless to say, Mourinho keeps a flawless record when playing continental finals, having won two trophies with Porto (UEFA Cup in 2003 and the UEFA Champions League one year later) and the 2010 UCL with Inter. Will he add one more win to his resume? We're about to find out!
