As a good-faith gesture, Arsenal will try to keep their loyal fanbase satisfied, even if they are still thinking of extending Arsene Wenger's contract with the team.
In a press release issued earlier today, the club informed that each and everyone of the season ticket holders will be reimbursed after the Gunners failed to qualify for the next UEFA Champions League season. This will be the first time in which the Emirates Stadium won't be hosting UCL games since it opened its gates.
According to a report by The Mirror, an email has been sent to all ticket holders, where they were informed of the amount the club will refund. Sources claim that each ticket holder will receive a bit more than £100 per seat purchased.
"We have previously announced that there will be no increase to GA pricing for Premier League, Emirates FA Cup, League Cup games in Season 2017/18. The club has always considered that pricing for the Europa League would be different from the Champions League so we have reviewed our approach for next season and have applied a discount on your season ticket for the Europa League element. This has resulted in a reduction of price compared to the standard price you paid last year," the document states.
Last week, fans failed to attend the clash against Southampton in protest for the team's poor performances that saw them finish 5th.
Even if most fans are expecting other moves inside the team, such as Arsene Wenger's sacking, the team is trying to give back a bit of what fans were expecting. It's not all they would be satisfied with, but it's a start...
