The French striker opened up for the first time about his legal problem with his former team-mate.

After months of silence, French striker Karim Benzema stepped up and fired a few shots against former Les Bleus team-mate Mathieu Valbuena. The pair has been involved in a sextape scandal for over a year, which forced coach Didier Deschamps to snub Benzema from the French National Team.

Benzema is accused of being involved in a scam to get money from Valbuena in order to keep a sextape featuring the Olympique Lyon midfielder under wraps. Court proceedings have been going on for over a year, with both sides trying to prove their point.

In an interview with L'Equipe, Benzema referred to Valbuena  as a "liar", accusing him of mocking the French public opinion with his opinions.

"He's got to stop making up stories. I get mad every time I see him lying! He made it all up, he needed to come clean and speak about what happened in that sextape, he's the one that has to take the blame," Benzema stated.

Real Madrid's No. 9 kept on criticizing the midfielder, who likes to change his words day in and day out.

"First, he goes out and calls me 'scum'. He adds that I've threatened and blackmailed him, he keeps making up stories. Then, he goes out and says that he wants to play with me again! He's just making fun of everyone!" Benzema added.

The striker is still faciing up to 5 years in prison, plus a €75,000 fine if found guilty of trying to blackmail his former team-mate.
