According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will look to sign one or two household names over the summer. The Blaugrana will likely lose Arda Turan, with the Catalan giants looking for the Turk’s replacement.
The former Atletico Madrid man was signed as a possible replacement for Andres Iniesta, but the Turkish ace’s career never really picked up at Camp Nou. As a result, he is expected to leave the club over the summer.
Several names have been linked with the Spanish giants. Bernardo Silva, the playmaker behind Monaco’s wonderful season is a candidate, but Barca prefer a proven player with experience in top level football.
According to the report, the Blaugrana could reignite their interest in BVB superstar Marco Reus. The German attacker was on Barca’s radar in 2015 after the Spanish club found out about his 25 million Euros release clause, but the attacker turned down a move due to the presence of Neymar and Iniesta.
With Iniesta aging, Reus might be tempted to accept a move to Camp Nou, where his buddy Marc-André ter Stegen plies his trade. The BVB ace’s struggle with injury could put of Barca from bidding, however.
Bartomeu, on the other hand, could return for Angel Di Maria. Barca attempted to sign the Argentine from Man United, but an anti-Barca clause inserted in his contract by former employers Real Madrid prevented this from happening. With the winger having joined PSG since, that clause no longer exists.
El Fideo has a good relationship with Messi and Mascherano, but whether he’d join his former rival club remains to be seen.
