With Tottenham suffering a shock loss over the weekend, Antonio Conte's men are four points clear - and could make it seven with a victory over Middlesbrough later today.
Historically, Chelsea have the upper hand in this tie. Middlesbrough haven't beaten Chelsea since August 23, 2006, have not shut them out since February 11, 2006, and perhaps most significant, have not scored at Stamford Bridge since September 23, 2001. Conte does have some selection concerns, with David Luiz, N'Golo Kante, and Thibaut Courtois all in doubt for this fixture.
