If Barcelona needed a reason to worry about Neymar’s future, they’ve got it. According to recent reports, the Brazilian was involved in a row with the club’s assistant manager Juan Carlos Unzue.
Unzue, Luis Enrique’s right-hand man, is tipped as a serious candidate to replace the Asturian boss once he leaves the Blaugrana this summer as promised. His clash with the Selecao superstar happened during training in the build-up to Saturday’s clash with Villarreal.
The Catalan giants won 4-1, with Neymar scoring in the victory, but Unzue had some reservations about the 25-year-old prior to kick-off. According to Mundo Deportivo (as per Marca), the assistant manager made “a few tactical points” which the Brazilian did not appreciate.
There was a “rising tone over the disagreement” before one member of Barcelona’s backroom staff intervened. That man told Neymar to focus on his football if he wishes to fulfill his true potential.
The former Santos ace, linked with a move to Man United, has had standout performances this season – the PSG tie being a perfect example. He has racked up 24 assists, but has scored only 16 times this season.
