The “Specialist in Failure” overcame his arch nemesis, as the top four race heats up.

On Sunday, Arsenal hosted Manchester United in the most anticipated Premier League game of the weekend. Both sides are outside of the top four but are fighting for their lives to qualify for next season’s Champions League

A drab first-half was followed by a thrilling second, as two quick goals from the hosts saw the Gunners earn a 2-0 victory. Granit Xhaka broke the deadlock, with his deflected shot beating David De Gea. Shortly afterwards, Danny Welbeck scored a bullet header from a fine Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain cross.

With talks of this being Le Prof’s final season at the Emirates, he could have gotten the final laugh over the Special One. Sunday’s victory saw the Frenchman put two Mourinho records to the knife.

Firstly, Jose’s unbeaten run in the Premier League against Arsenal came to an end. The former Chelsea boss had previously lost to Wenger in the Community Shield, but this was his first league defeat in 13 top-flight meetings.

Secondly, the 67-year-old put an end to Mourinho’s record unbeaten run at Old Trafford. The 20-time English champions hadn’t suffered a defeat in their last 25 games, a run that came to an end in north London.

Twitter was exploding after the final whistle. Check out the best tweets and trolls.
