The Special One admitted he might rotate his squad for the Emirates Stadium trip due to fatigue.

Manchester United’s top-four hopes will face another tricky test when the Red Devils lock horns with Arsenal on Sunday. Jose Mourinho’s men, having shared the points with Wenger’s side at Old Trafford, will make the trip to the Emirates Stadium over the weekend.

Although this is a must-win game for both sides, the Special One claims he might rest a few key players for Sunday’s game. The Portuguese boss made this surprise confession after the Europa League win over Celta Vigo.

The 20-time Premier League champions overcame their Spanish opponents 1-0, with the reverse fixture being played at the Threatre of Dream. Marcus Rashford scored the only goal from a free-kick, but Jose put the English forward’s chances of starting the Arsenal game in doubt.

"The players who have an accumulation of fatigue, the players that have had lots of minutes, because we played nine matches in April and this one, so 10 matches in four and a half weeks, those players are not going to play at the weekend,” Mourinho told the press.

Yes, Man United have played 10 games since April 1. This busy schedule has seen the Red Devils lose players to injury and drop a few points.

According to the Daily Mirror, Rashford is one of the players likely to be rested on Sunday. Eric Bailly, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, and Jesse Lingard – having featured in the club’s last eight games – could also be handed a breather.

With Mourinho’s side on course to make the Europa League final, Man United could still make next season’s Champions League even if they miss out on a top four finish. The Red Devils will need to win either Ajax or Lyon to win the title in order to do that.
