The list of star players that Le Prof missed out on welcomes a new member.

It’s one of Arsene Wenger’s biggest shortcomings in football: scouting talented youngsters, then passing only to watch them become household names. It has happened several times in the past – Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Yaya Toure are two examples.

With the always exciting north London derby, Le Prof revealed another exciting player which he had the opportunity to sign. To add insult to injury for Arsenal fans, he is Dele Alli – the Spurs starlet lighting up the league and tearing apart defenses.

The Englishman rose through the ranks at MK Dons before being snapped up by Mauricio Pochettino’s crew. Asked if Alli was ever on Arsenal’s radar, Wenger said (as per the Guardian):

“We looked at him. He played at Milton Keynes. It’s down the road from here. You have to say that he has done extremely well and he has developed very well into a very complete player.”

Dele’s sizzling form this season has helped Spurs push for the title. They trail leaders Chelsea by four points, a lead that could be slashed should the Blues slip-up.

The Gunners, on the other hand, sit in sixth. Although a top-four finish is possible, Arsenal must put in perfect displays in their remaining games to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
