Contrary to his usual ways, the Italian tactician admitted he hasn't been pleased by the Frenchman's latest displays with Die Roten.

Usually, Carlo Ancelotti tries to enjoy a nice relationship with his players. Some of his former footballers such as Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo praise the Italian whenever they have the chance, but today, the Italian tactician showed that when he needs more from a player, he is willing to ask that from him even in a press conference.

Prior to Wednesday's DFB Pokal Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund, Carlo Ancelotti wasted no time when asked about Franck Ribery, who was believed to be experiencing fitness issues. Ancelotti played down those claims and slammed his footballer, who hasn't lived up to what the Italian wants from him.

"Ribery is fit and can play on Wednesday. He was out of the team the other day because he had not been playing well," Ancelotti stated.

Earlier this month, Ribery and Ancelotti staged a curious scene, when the Italian boss kissed a furious Ribery who had been subbed off moments earlier. There seems to be no kiss in sight for the French wingman this time.

One player that did earn praise from Ancelotti was Phillip Lahm, who will put an end to his career by the end of the season. Ancelotti praised him soon after blasting Ribery, and even admitted he wants to convince him of reverting his decision to call it quits.

"Philipp is an example to follow and is very important for the team. He has already made his decision, but we are obviously joking about it. I keep trying to convince him to continue playing! We could play him in midfield to make sure he does not have to run as much. Maybe that can convince him," Ancelotti concluded.

Bayern Munich faces Borussia Dortmund after a tough week, where Die Roten were eliminated by Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Quarter finals. Their weekend match also ended with a disappointing result after drawing against Mainz.
