The aftermath of Tuesday’s shocking Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich clash continues. A game which was highly-anticipated, one which began well, quickly deteriorated due to a number of dubious refereeing decisions.
Match official Viktor Kassai made some shock decisions, the biggest being his sending off of Arturo Vidal for a legal tackle. Then there were the two offside goals which ended any hopes the Bavarians had of making the semis.
The Bundesliga giants were upset with the referee, and understandably so. As a result, a few of the players took to social media to blast the Hungarian official.
One of them was Vidal, who mocked the referee by drawing a fake Bayern Munich player that kept Cristiano on-side for his second goal of the night. Ribery also vented his frustration, writing "One year of work, thanks referee, bravo" on Instagram.
Vidal did not stop there. Speaking after the final whistle, he branded Kassai a "clown", claiming he “robbed” Bayern Munich of their spot in the last 4.
Furthermore, TV station El Chiringuito claim the Chilean midfielder, joined by Lewandowski and Thiago, marched into the referee’s dressing room in anger after full-time. After insulting Kassai and refusing to leave, Spanish police had to step in to escort the three players away.
