Here is all you need to know about the 7th week of the 2017 Major League Soccer season.

MLS matches resume this week with some interesting fixtures to look forward to. On Friday, Philadelphia Union take on NYCFC in a bottom vs mid table clash.

NYCFC are sixth on the Eastern Conference table with seven points after five games, having registered two wins, two defeats and one draw. Philadelphia are bottom with only two points from five games, and have lost two and drawn two of their MlS games this season. The Union will be hoping to register their first win of the season when they host the Pigeons at the PPL Park.

MLS Cup defending champions Seattle Sounders will then travel to Vancouver at 7pm PST/10:00 pm EST. In the other match of the day, San Jose welcome FC Dallas at 8:00pm PST/ 11:00 EST. This match, in particular, with be special to Fredy Montero (below), who plays as a forward for Vancouver Whitecaps on loan from Tianjin TEDA. The 29-year-old will be facing his former employers, Sounder, a team he played for from 2009 to 2014.

On Saturday, there will be an early kick-off between Montreal Impact and newly-promoted side Atlanta United. Then all eyes will be on Orlando City when they take on MLS giants LA Galaxy at the newly-opened Orlando City Stadium.

Eastern conference leaders Columbus Crew welcome 9th-placed Toronto FC, who reached the finals of the MLS Cup last season before losing to Sounders. Toronto have kicked off their 2017 campaign with four draws and only one win, and are yet to lose a match this season. Greg Vanney's men may have avoided defeat so far, but their four draws aren't helping that much as far as their league position is concerned. This Easter weekend now provides yet another chance for the reds to rise further up the league table with a win.
