Team news

These two teams are no strangers to each other. Although their history in Europe isn’t long, they have met before, with Atletico winning twice.

However, Leicester don’t have several injuries to worry about. The English Premier League outfit head into this tie with captain Wes Morgan (back), Mendy (ankle), and Wague (shoulder) injured. Diego Simeone, however, has a few worrying absentees.

The first is Kevin Gameiro. The French forward is out due to an injury to his abductor, which means Torres will likely be named in the starting eleven. Furthermore, Thiago (knee), Moyà (hamstring), and Augusto Fernández (knee) are out.

Speaking ahead of the game, Simeone wasn’t underestimating Leicester. He said: “I don't imagine this game being a big win for either team. Given the qualities of the two sides, I think it will be hard-fought and I am sure it will be settled at their ground.”
