The Spanish defender was injured after a bomb went off near the team's bus.

On Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund suffered a scare ahead of their Champions League clash with Monaco. Three explosive devices were planted near the team’s hotel prior to kickoff, with one detonating near the team’s bus.

The game was postponed as a result, with the tie set to be played on Wednesday. Although there was no serious injury, Marc Barta suffered a minor injury and was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the Bundesliga outfit later revealed that the Spanish defender underwent surgery after “various foreign particles” were blasted into his arm. He also suffered a broken bone in his right hand.
