The Bavarians have a history of luring players from their rivals, but this will no longer be the case.

Bayern Munich have dominated the Bundesliga, in recent years particularly, thanks to their domestic shopping policy. The Bavarians are known from signing players from their rivals – strengthening their squad and weakening their opponents.

Borussia Dortmund know this practice all too well. The Signal Iduna Park had to watch three of their household names – Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski, and Mats Hummels – leave the club for die Roten.

Although Gotze eventually returned back, the damage had been done. Die Schwarzgelben were still one of Germany’s top teams, but could no longer challenge Bayern.

Bayern’s chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed that his side will no longer raid their Bundesliga rivals. Speaking to WAZ, he made this revelation head of Der Klassiker.

"I can guarantee today that we have not contacted or will contact any of these players," Rummenigge said.

Who are these players? Rummenigge was referring to Dortmund’s list of young and promising players. This includes Julian Weigl, Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang still under Tuchel’s wing, Dortmund could soon become a fearsome side in Europe. As for now, they sit in fourth in the Bundesliga ahead of their clash with the leaders.
