Here's the latest FIFA world rankings as of April 6, 2017.

Five-time FIFA World Cup winners Brazil have returned to the top of the FIFA world rankings for the first time in seven years. The Samba boys have been in fine form lately since since the arrival of coach Tite, who replaced the legendary Dunga last year.

The South Americans have won all nine matches they have played under his leadership, which include eight World Cup qualifiers. Brazil are also the first nation to book their place at the World Cup in Russia next year thanks to their impressive form.

Brazil last topped the rankings before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. But their defeat to the Netherlands in the quarter-finals, coupled by their poor performances at the 2011 and 2015 Copa America tournaments, not forgetting the famous 7-1 defeat to Germany in the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup, sent the fallen giants down the table.

Brazil captain Neymar celebrates one of his previous goals for the Samba Boys. He has been sensational for the South American nation in recent times.

Argentina, on the other hand, have dropped to the second spot thanks to their recent 2-0 defeat to Bolivia. The Albiceleste are struggling to make it to the World Cup in Russia as they are currently fifth on the CONMEBOL standings.

Meanwhile, seven-time African Cup of Nations winners Egypt have climbed to the top of the continent's rankings thanks to their performance at the AFCON 2017 in Gabon. Germany is the best European team, while Iran is the best Asian team. Here are the top 10 rankings, as of April 6, 2017.
