On Wednesday, Barcelona will be playing a crucial game in La Liga. The Blaugrana trail leaders Real Madrid by two points despite having played a game extra, meaning victory is vital in their midweek clash.
Luis Enrique’s boys welcome Sevilla in their 30th game of this season. Jorge Sampaoli’s boys travel to Camp Nou, and Messi and Co. will be fools for thinking they have this win in the bag.
However, victory is in the hosts’ favor. Here are four reasons why.
Messi can’t stop scoring against Sevilla at home
Leo is one of the most lethal strikers to have graced the beautiful game, but his numbers against Sevilla when playing at home is out of this world. He has found the back of the net more times than official games between these two clubs.
Messi has played 13 official home games against their Liga opponents. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has netted 17 times, registering two assists along the way. Expect La Pulga to add to his tally.

Camp Nou’s 14-year unbeaten run
It has been long since Sevilla last won at Camp Nou – over 14 years, in fact. Their last league win at Barca’s home came in December 2002, courtesy of a 3-0 victory.
The Blaugrana have been tough to beat this year
Since the New Year, Barca have been a tough side to defeat. In fact, they have only lost three times in 2017. The Catalan giants have played 21 official games this year, winning 15 of them.
Los Hispalenses haven’t been in the best form lately
Sevilla looked to be that club that would challenge the Barcelona-Real Madrid dominance. However, poor form last month saw them drop to fourth, behind Atletico.
Sampaoli’s boys have shockingly not won a game in over a month, a period which saw them play five matches.
Sevilla haven't won a game (5) in over a month & will face Barca at the Camp Nou tomorrow. Safe to say they aren't a threat to the hosts.
